Our Bridge and Deck Solutions

Incremental Launching

The incremental launching method involves constructing bridge deck segments at ground level behind an abutment and progressively pushing them into place. Each completed section is connected to the previous one and slid forward along the bridge alignment using specialised launching equipment and low‑friction pads. This step‑by‑step process continues until the full deck is positioned, providing a safe, efficient solution for sites with restricted access or environmental challenges.

Steel Bridge Launchings

Steel superstructures can also be installed using the incremental launching method. Depending on project requirements, crews assemble the steelwork as a single unit or in several segments before launching.  To reduce bending stresses, engineers attach a lightweight launching nose to the leading edge of the deck. As the structure moves over each pier, this nose improves stability and maintains structural performance throughout the launch process.

Balanced Cantilever Erection

Balanced cantilever construction suits long spans, high‑clearance sites, and locations with limited ground access. To achieve this, specialist equipment such as launching gantries or lifting frames places segments evenly on both sides of a pier. As a result, the structure remains balanced during erection. This approach enables precise construction and safe execution, even in the most challenging environments.
