The Taita Reservoir in Upper Hutt, Wellington, is a 34‑metre‑diameter concrete water tank standing 7.2 metres high with a dome roof. Due to significant deterioration and major leakage, the structure required seismic strengthening to ensure long‑term performance and water‑tightness. Strengthening works focused on installing an external post‑tensioning system to enhance the tank’s structural capacity and resilience.
