As part of the Pūhoi to Warkworth motorway extension—the first stage of the Ara Tūhono corridor—Freyssinet NZ was engaged to strengthen key foundation elements using high‑performance Freyssibars. The works supported the long‑term stability of abutments and wingwalls, contributing to the durability and resilience of this major transport infrastructure upgrade.

Freyssinet Scope

  • Supply and installation of 72 × 3.15 m, 50 mm diameter Freyssibars with full accessory systems
  • Supply and installation of 30 × 5.4 m, 75 mm diameter Freyssibars (Grade 1030 MPa)
  • Controlled stressing of bars up to 60 kN, with 75 mm bars acting as seismic tie bars for abutment wingwalls
  • Corrosion protection using Densoclad wrapping and Freyssigrout encapsulation
  • All works delivered safely, on programme, and within budget
